Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom (UK), we process your personal data under the following legal bases:
- Contract performance: processing necessary to deliver the free resources you requested (e.g., generating your download link after you provide your email)
- Legitimate interests: improving our website, preventing abuse, understanding aggregate visitor patterns through anonymized analytics, and sending you occasional information about our own books and review invitations, which you can stop at any time by unsubscribing
- Legal obligations: complying with applicable laws and regulations
- Consent: where you have provided explicit consent, such as submitting a book review or comment for publication
08
Data Sharing
We share your data only with the following service providers, strictly for the purposes described:
- Our own database and storage: we run a self-hosted Supabase instance on a private server that we operate and control directly. Supabase is the open-source software we use, not a third-party service provider, so no external company processes this data on our behalf. Your name, email, and reviews are stored there.
- Fathom Analytics: our analytics provider. Fathom only receives anonymized, aggregated data. No personally identifiable information is shared.
We do NOT share your personal data with advertisers, data brokers, or any third parties for marketing purposes.
09
International Data Transfers
We take care to ensure your data is processed in compliance with applicable data protection laws:
- Our own database and storage: hosted on a server located in the United States. If you are in the EEA or UK, the personal data you submit is transferred to and stored in the United States.
- Fathom Analytics: processes EU visitor data within the European Union, in compliance with GDPR
Where data transfers outside the EEA are necessary, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or adequacy decisions.
10
Data Retention
We retain your data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:
- Download leads (name and email from resource requests): retained for service delivery, to provide access to updated resources, and to send the book updates and review invitations described above. Retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, which you may do at any time.
- Reviews and comments: retained for as long as they are published on the website. You may request removal at any time.
- Technical/analytics data: fully anonymized by Fathom Analytics. No personal data is retained by our analytics system.

- Encryption in transit: all data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS
